Peer Review: Victoria, Kory, David, Mariah

Victoria, Kory, David, and Mariah are all using functional and rhetorical literacy by each using a different mix of technology, fair use materials, and the information they gained from their research this semester to create their final projects.

Kory and Mariah are making websites with information pertinent to their topics. Victoria is making an online newsletter using Issue for the same purpose, and David is making a powerpoint about his topic.

None of us have much more than the general form of our projects created (example: Kory and Mariah both started their websites, but neither has any content up yet.), but we all have an idea of what we're doing and a plan for it.

Kory - Kory is making a website about the effects that the internet has on todays youth and also how we are currently using the internet for education purposes. I think this topic is very relevant to today's society and will give some good ideas to think about when we allow children on the web where they have access to virtually anything. I also think it is important to realize how far the internet has brought us and how much we rely on it in for education purposes.

David - David is doing a powerpoint over the top influences high school athletes have on which colleges they choose. He will also be including pictures and videos. I think this topic will be interesting to see how much these high school students are depending on these influences or rather making a personal choice of picking a school that fits them as an individual.

Mariah - Mariah is either doing a prezi or a website. She will be discussing Society of friends and the history of quaker churches and also explaining what she has personally experienced and how it is different. I am interested to see how quaker churches differ from the more common christian or catholic churches which i am more familiar with.

Victoria - Tori is making a newsletter which she hopes to post on Issu. She will be talking about the effects of religion on mental illness and spirituality. I really like this topic because I personally believe without my personal relationship with christ this would have a negative effect on my overall happiness and mental clarity. i am excited to see her presentation!
